Homework Monday 7th November

Homework - News Room 21

Monday 7th November

ü     The children now have a copy of the camp video available to them to copy onto their pen drives from the class computer, it is their responsibility to copy it and take it home.

ü     Today we had a visit from the teaching staff of The Christchurch Art Gallery, they taught us about Polynesian Art and we made some really cool prints, these will be on display in the classroom next week.

ü     Over the next two weeks we will be having lots of tests so that we can measure the amount learned in 2011. Hopefully children will be at school every day for these tests.

Last week we planned the tree Living Springs donated to the school. We will need to make sure that we water it frequently.

Homework

ü     By now the children should be reading independently for 30 minutes each night , some nights they should share and talk about their reading with you.

ü     Tables, this Thursday we will be having a major addition and multiplication tables test so some time should be spent each night relearning these tables.

Camp

Living Springs 2011

Camp was a great success, the children were fabulous (a real credit to you all), our parent parents were superb and the venue really comfortable, even the weather was wonderful.

I know that you would have heard lots of camp stories and maybe seen some of the photos, next week the children will load all the camp photos onto their pen drives so that you can view them at home.

We walked around the edge of Lyttelton Harbour and rested on the volcanic rocks.
The Monorail was exciting and just a little scary.
Our Kai was well deserved and always nutritious.
Some of us struggled to keep everything together in our bag.
Milking a cow looked easy but it was really hard.
We made a human chain to cross the road.
Most of us were lucky and had a bumpy ride behind the motor bike.
We had our own little mini fair and a chance to make (and lose) some money.

Our Maths Champions
are:
Duncan, Ashleigh, and Gemma!:)
These champions became champions because we did a math
game held by the brilliant Brydie Washington and they
all got their name and two asterisk. Sooo....
WELL DONE!

Certificates go to:
Zach, Shannae, and Ofa!
Congratulations!:)
